I was born near Valley Forge Pennsylvania and raised in Southern California and Japan. I attended San Diego State University, studying Marketing & Socio-Cultural Anthropology and later attended Broadcasting school which led to a career on the radio after relocating to New York. The Capital Region has been my home for more than 30+ years. I’ve lived in Delmar, Guilderland, Albany and currently in Slingerlands. (I understand the relocation process well.) In my free time I enjoy relaxing with family, going to the gym, home improvement projects in our 1800's Gothic Victorian, fixing bicycles in my workshop and being outdoors. My wife, Kim Gismervik and I, between us, have 7 children, 9 grandchildren and 2 feisty Jack Russell Terrier mixes. Kim is also a Howard Hanna Realtor and we do work together professionally which allows us to give our clients a high level of personal, attentive service. She handles contractual paperwork while I am in the field with Sellers and Buyer clients. One topic that's rarely brought up is:

"Negotiations that don't result in an accepted Offer."

It's not an enjoyable experience for my Buyers or myself to have a negative result. Sometimes it's necessary to push forward in the home search and make additional Offers. Sure, I've had most Offers be successful on the 1st selected home but at times the circumstances require a restart and a dedicated reboot until we achieve an accepted Offer. Emotions can run high & drain you to a low point. Enthusiasm can take a dip. Purchasing a home is sometimes a marathon that might take longer than anticipated. All Realtors know what I'm talking about. There's a saying my wise Broker said when I started "you wake up unemployed and need to go out and work", pretty much the same thing my father said long ago. Anyway, getting back on the horse is the theme. The desire to have your own home is much more than a thought, it's a mission.

🏛️ Historic Preservation Law Moves Toward Vote in Bethlehem 🗳️

At its first meeting in February, the Bethlehem Town Board heard public comments during a formal hearing on a proposed Historic Preservation Law.

The proposed law is designed to encourage property owners throughout the Town to preserve and protect historically significant buildings and sites — helping safeguard the character and heritage that make our community unique. 🏡✨

After gathering public input, the Board is expected to vote on the measure at its meeting scheduled for the second Wednesday in March 2026.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed and participate as this important decision moves forward.
