🚨 Florida Property Tax Update:
Here’s what you need to know!
A proposed constitutional amendment is heading to Florida voters this November, and it could significantly change how property taxes work in our state.
If approved by at least 60% of voters:
🏡 The homestead exemption for primary residences would increase from the current $50,000 to $150,000 in 2027 and to $250,000 in 2028.
🌴 New Florida residents may have a five-year waiting period before qualifying for the full homestead benefit.
🏢 Non-homestead properties, including many investment properties, could also see changes through additional protections on annual assessment increases.
Whether you’re a full-time Florida resident, a seasonal homeowner, or an investor, this is something worth paying attention to because it could impact your future tax bill and long-term investment strategy.
I’ll continue sharing updates as more details emerge before the November vote.
What are your thoughts on the proposed changes?
