The conforming loan limit (CLL) has increased to $806,500—a 5.2% rise from 2024! 💰 But what exactly does this mean for homebuyers? 🤔
Here’s a quick breakdown:
🏠 What is the CLL?
The CLL is the maximum amount you can borrow for a conventional mortgage that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will back. It’s set each year by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).
📈 How does it work?
* The CLL is based on national average home prices and is higher in high-cost areas.
* Loans exceeding the CLL are called jumbo loans, which usually come with stricter credit and income requirements.
