Ahmad Houston was homeless in 2020, sleeping on the streets of Fort Worth, Texas. Today, he's a master gardener who runs a community garden where neighbors can pick free tomatoes, Brussels sprouts and orange mint whenever they need fresh food.

HGTV names two Colorado cities
to hottest suburbs list ~

Littleton & Lafayette made the list of 20 communities. The honorees stretch from coast to coast, although the Colorado cities are the only picks west of the Mississippi River outside of the West Coast and Texas. 📍🗺️

Civic Center EATS returns May 13
for its 24th season, bringing dozens of local food trucks, live music & community back to the heart of the city.

This year’s location has shifted due to Civic Center Park construction, w/ food trucks now gathering along Bannock Street in front of the Denver City & County Building. Wednesdays & Thursdays through October from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 🌞

Houston is moving away from a system that relied on tenant complaints, instead implementing a mandatory framework where the city proactively inspects apartment complexes to identify safety hazards. 🕵️‍♂️🔦📝

Landlords who fail to resolve issues could face daily fines ranging from $250 to $2,500. In extreme cases of noncompliance, the city may revoke a property's certificate of occupancy.🏢⚖️

NO MORE WAITING: Houston is officially moving from a complaint-based system to proactive enforcement for apartment safety. 🏢⚖️

The City Council just passed a landmark Apartment Inspection Ordinance aimed at cracking down on "high-risk" landlords. Instead of waiting for a tenant to report a problem, the city will now take the lead—holding owners accountable for mold, structural issues, and unsafe conditions before they become a crisis.

Mayor Whitmire and city leaders say the goal is simple: ensuring safe, dignified living conditions for all Houstonians.
