After 450 long days behind shelter walls, Neo’s story finally found the ending it always deserved — and a beautiful new beginning.

Neo arrived at the shelter after being rescued from an abusive home. He was fearful, shut down, and carried invisible scars that went far deeper than anyone could see. People passed by his kennel, overlooking him for younger, more energetic dogs. But Neo waited. Quietly. Hopefully.

Days turned into months. Seasons changed. Still, no one came.

But the shelter team never gave up. They saw his gentle soul beneath the fear, his loyalty beneath the caution. They worked with him every day — slowly building trust, showing him love wasn’t something to fear anymore. Neo began to wag his tail again. He started greeting visitors. And eventually, he dared to believe that maybe he was worthy of love, too.

Then one day, everything changed.

A kind-hearted couple walked into the shelter, looking for a companion. They saw Neo, read his story, and sat with him quietly. He didn’t rush to them — but he didn’t back away either. When he gently laid his head on the woman’s lap, everyone knew: this was it.

Neo went home that very day.

Now, after 450 days of waiting, Neo sleeps in a warm bed, basks in sunbeams by the window, and enjoys belly rubs on demand. He has a yard to run in, toys to chase, and people who adore him. He’s safe. He’s loved. And he’s finally home.

To anyone feeling forgotten or broken — Neo’s journey is a reminder: healing takes time, but love always finds a way. ❤️

She’s not playing and barely eating.
I think she is very sad and will take time,
before she gets her trust again.

And here we will love him.
He found his forever family.
And a warm place to relax.

And I will give him everything: patience, love, and safety.

Newborn at home so the dog has to go .
For those who give up their dogs when they have a baby, I'm posting this photo of a family whose 15-year-old Jack Russel Terrier is treated as one of the children (because he was their first child) and who is the protector of his two human brothers and sisters.
Never use the excuse that you had to let your dog go because you have a baby in the family and the doctor advised you blah blah blah and other lame excuses.
Never abandon your pets. They are family 😍

Hi my pet loving friends.

two great events that benefit MaxFund No-Kill Animal Shelter and Adoption Center.

Sunday -Dec 10 -10-3 -Larimer Square - 1421 Larimer- puppy adoption event with fun merchandise from Dog Saavy. I will be there with volunteers and available dogs for a fun holiday event ( it is indoors so don't worry about the weather)

Saturday- Dec 16- 1-3 Open House at MaxFund 1005 Galapago - Santa will be there for photos with your pups- I will be giving tours of the facility! We will have a bake sale ( with human and k-9 treats) and some great gifts for your pups for X-Mas!

Two chances to come meet some of my four legged buddies who are looking for homes..

we welcome donations of pet food, warm blankets,towels and of course cash ! spread some cheer this holiday with MaxFund!!
