It is a NEW year and at Stout Street Lofts all tenants will be meeting with their case managers to develop a written plan for this years goals.
I would encourage all tenants at SSL to include as one of their yearly goals for CCH@SSL to alter their building policies to be more in line with social norms.
In the Denver Metro area, few non exclusive, upscale apartment building require any GUEST of paying tenants to carry and present a physical ID issued from a state.
Additionally, no law exists that requires this. State ID is ONLY required under both state and federal law for a person who rents an apartment, opens a bank account or obtains a job.
If CCH@SSL does wish to continue to create barriers to it's tenants to have the support systems they had when they were homeless they might want to also include training for safety personnel to be able to accept the State of Colorado's official secure electronic ID recently implemented by the State of Colorado.
Gov. Jared Polis is proud to announce the growing list of local law enforcement agencies across the state accepting Colorado Digital ID™ as proof of identity, age and address during traffic stops. Police departments in Denver, Brighton, Broomfield, Cherry Hills Village, Colorado Springs, Durango, Johnstown, Lakewood, Loveland, Morrison, Parker, Thornton, Vail and Windsor are accepting the secure and contactless form of identification available in the myColorado™ mobile app.
On Oct. 30, 2019, Gov. Polis signed an Executive Order to authorize Digital ID as a legal form of identification in Colorado. The Denver Police Department has been accepting the Digital ID since its inception, and Colorado State Patrol joined the program in November 2020. Gov. Polis encourages all Coloradans to download the myColorado mobile app and set up their contactless ID to provide a safe and convenient way to exchange information with law enforcement.
