Leticia knew she would get her license one day and become an agent, she didn’t pull the trigger until 11 years ago, when, after a short battle with ovarian cancer, Silvia tragically passed away. The unexpectedness of her loss left Leticia contemplating what the next step in her personal life and professional life would be. Then, in the midst of her grief, a fire was lit within her.
“I had to continue what Silvia had built. I became determined to get my license! She brought out the best in me. And at that moment I knew I had to keep the ball rolling and keep her legacy alive, helping our community and positively impacting our customers’ lives.”
Â
“Grieving her loss and moving forward with all the challenges has been one of the most difficult things that I have endured. Maybe her mentorship didn’t end with her death. Maybe the final gift she’s given me is the opportunity to reflect on what she’s given me, with the goal of trying to become an agent that provides quality service to our community.”
Â
Leticia established Acosta International to do just that. She remained with Keller Williams where she established herself as an agent and found great success. While she was incredibly grateful for all the training she received at Keller Williams and the agents she worked with, she decided that after 20 years there, she needed a change, and joined Compass just over a year ago.
Â
“Compass was the spark I was missing, within the year I joined Compass, I decided to expand and build Acosta International. Acosta International is my life, but I felt that it was time for it to be much bigger than just me.”
Â
As Leticia sets out to expand Acosta International, she continues to draw her inspiration from Silvia, gleaning from the memory of her strength, humility, and selflessness and believes she will keep Silvia's legacy alive by passing it onto others.
Â
“I think success looks very different for everyone, but for me it means freedom and being able to bless others through my work and my expertise.”
