Originally from Excelsior, MN, I graduated from the U of M-Twin Cities and worked in Corporate Sales until November 2011. That's when I dropped everything and drove West in search of my dream lifestyle. Farmers markets are back, and Colorado does this particular season really well. From the foothills to the Front Range to the mountains, every weekend through summer turns into a slow morning somewhere with fresh peaches, cut flowers, breakfast burritos, and coffee from your favorite local vendors.

The Old Colorado City Farmers Market in Bancroft Park has been running for over forty years, which makes it one of the longest-standing markets in the state, and you can absolutely feel that history when you walk into it. Our Jade agents will be there this summer, so if you are headed to the market, come say hi. We love this one.

There are great markets all over the state worth marking on the calendar. The Larimer County market in Fort Collins is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year. Cherry Creek, Union Station, and South Pearl over in Denver each have their own personality and cover most of the weekend. The mountain markets in Vail, Breckenridge, and Steamboat are worth a Sunday on their own.

Littleton has this balance that’s hard to find.

Tree-lined streets, older character homes, local restaurants, trails, and easy access to downtown without actually feeling like downtown.

People love Littleton because it feels established. The neighborhoods have personality, the community feels grounded, and there’s a mix of historic charm with updated homes and newer development nearby.

You can spend a Saturday grabbing coffee downtown, walking the Platte trail, checking out local shops, and still be close to the mountains.

It’s one of those areas that tends to hold long-term value because people genuinely love living there.

If you ask me what I’d do on a Sunday in Colorado, the answer is probably going to involve good coffee, getting outside for a little while, and ending the day somewhere with a great patio or dinner reservation.

That’s one of the best parts about living here. Every city, neighborhood, and mountain town has its own rhythm. One weekend might look like coffee and a walk through Wash Park, another might turn into a drive to the mountains, brunch in Fort Collins, or an afternoon wandering around Colorado Springs.

There are so many incredible local coffee shops, trails, parks, restaurants, and hidden spots across the state that it’s honestly hard to run out of things to do. Colorado makes it really easy to romanticize your weekends a little.

And that’s a huge part of why people love living here.
Whether you’re more into slow mornings, mountain drives, trying new restaurants, patio season, or getting outside with friends, there’s genuinely something for everyone here.

The market is still moving but buyers are paying attention to value, condition, and pricing more than they were a few years ago.

The homes getting the most attention right now are the ones that: • hit the market at the right price
• show well online
• feel move-in ready
• create urgency early

Overpricing usually leads to longer days on market, price reductions, and less leverage later on.

A strong pricing strategy isn’t about listing low. It’s about understanding buyer behavior, neighborhood trends, competition, and timing to position your home well from day one.

Colorado’s March market tells a pretty clear story. More movement, more options, and a market that is starting to feel more balanced heading into spring.

Statewide, Colorado saw:
• 12,803 new listings
• 9,541 pending sales
• 7,463 sold listings
• $545,000 median sale price
• 25,367 active listings
• 3.5 months of inventory
• 70 average days on market

What does that mean for buyers and sellers?
For buyers, there are more options than we saw during the most competitive years, which can create more room to compare homes, ask better questions, and make a thoughtful decision.

For sellers, strategy matters. Homes that are priced well, prepared well, and presented well are still getting attention, but buyers are paying closer attention to value.

The market is not one-size-fits-all. Every neighborhood, price point, and property type can behave differently, which is why local guidance matters.
More options does not mean no competition. And more balance does not mean no opportunity.

It just means the right strategy matters more.

Castle Rock has become one of those places people move to and never really want to leave.

You get a little more space, incredible views, newer neighborhoods, great trail systems, and an easy balance between Denver and Colorado Springs.

There’s a strong sense of community here too. Farmers markets, local events, breweries, hiking trails, golf courses, and growing restaurants without feeling overly busy.

It’s one of the few places that still feels connected to Colorado nature while continuing to grow in a really intentional way.

What to expect when you move to Colorado? A few things become part of life pretty quickly.

You start using the mountains as your compass. A casual drive into the mountains becomes a normal weekend plan. Patio season shows up the second the weather allows it. And yes — sunscreen becomes an everyday essential, not just a vacation item.

That’s part of what makes Colorado feel so distinct. The lifestyle here is shaped by the outdoors, the pace of the seasons, and the little habits that become second nature once you’ve lived here for a while.

From longer days outside to quick escapes into the foothills, so much of daily life here is tied to the landscape around you. It’s one of the reasons people end up loving it so much — not just because Colorado is beautiful, but because it changes the way you live in the best ways.
