One of the best financial and emotional decisions that Amy and I have ever made was to invest in a community that we love, Buena Vista, Colorado! Five years ago, we purchased a vacation home hope to make our retirement home. We currently AirBnb the home to help support our family and help pay the bills for this big investment.

There is a bill currently being considered by the Colorado Legislature that would tax Short Term Rentals (STRs) like this at 4 times their current rate, might higher than the tax rate that national hotel corporations pay.

The burden on the small property owner like us would be enormous, could force some to sell their properties and s***f out the "Colorado Dream" for many.

If you live or own property in Colorado, I encourage you to read this article--AND more importantly--reach out to those considering this bill to say no! The big hotel corporations don't need any additional help.
