Great Veteran Information

Liberty View is an affordable apartment community for older military veterans near the Fitzsimons medical campus in Aurora.

It has 59 apartments—49 one-bedroom and 10 two-bedroom units—and is close to the VA Medical Center and Fitzsimons light-rail station. It also has a service coordinator who helps residents connect with benefits and other services.

The current waiting-list lottery is for:

* Veterans age 62 or older
* One-bedroom apartments for one- or two-person households
* Applicants who can provide DD214 documentation

The rental assistance stays with the Liberty View apartment rather than moving with the tenant. Qualified residents generally contribute about 30% of their income toward rent and utilities, with the voucher covering the remaining approved amount.

It is located at 1959 N. Quentin Street, Aurora, and the management-office number is 303-927-6089.

The Liberty View project-based voucher lottery is open from September 7 at 10 a.m. through September 18 at 4 p.m. It is limited to one- or two-person households with at least one member who is both 62 or older and a military veteran; DD214 documentation is required. Aurora Housing Authority⁠

DMAR’s August Market Trends Report is here.

Closed sales dropped sharply in August, while inventory and prices remained relatively flat, creating a market that continues to look very different depending on the client, property type, and price point.

A few key takeaways from this month’s report:

• Active listings ended August at 13,080, down just 0.27% from July
• Closed sales fell 18.99% month-over-month
• The median close price was $594,495, nearly unchanged from last year
• Median days in MLS increased to 27 days
• Attached inventory increased 9.94% year-over-year, while detached inventory declined 4.21%

As Amanda Snitker, Chair of the DMAR Market Trends Committee, shared, “It’s important to resist compressing the market into a single label.”

That’s especially true right now. Buyers and sellers across the Denver Metro area are experiencing very different conditions depending on their goals, financing and property type.
