As a real estate professional, I’ve always been fascinated by where people move — and why. Recent data shows Americans continue to head toward low-tax, affordable states, with the top gainers being South Carolina, Idaho, Texas, and Florida, and the biggest losers California, New York, and Hawaii.

While we often complain about Colorado becoming less affordable over the past decade, and even a bit too crowded for some people’s taste (myself included), we continue to attract those looking for a balanced lifestyle — great jobs, mountains, and a high quality of life. Colorado’s population is still growing, but much more slowly than it used to.
