Would-be home buyers may finally get some relief on mortgage rates in 2024. With the Federal Reserve’s announcement that it will again leave its benchmark lending rate unchanged, the central bank has ended its two-year campaign of tightening credit and is expected to begin easing rates downward.

I am sure all you homeowners out there are looking at your new property valuations with some degree of despair. Many have risen as much as 60% - this measure would provide at least some relief from that.

The proposal hinges on voter approval of a measure on the November ballot. If the plan fails, the average Colorado homeowner would experience a property tax increase of 40%.
