In 2003, the Grammy Award-winning artist, known as 50 Cent, purchased a lavish mansion from the ex-wife of former boxing champion Mike Tyson for a town-record $4.1 million. This extravagant acquisition followed the success of his album "Get Rich or Die Tryin'." Situated at 50 Poplar Hill Drive, the colossal residence spans 50,000 square feet and boasts over 50 rooms, aligning perfectly with the rapper's iconic moniker.

However, despite the auspicious beginnings, the mansion's fate took a downturn over the years. After more than a decade, 50 Cent sold the suburban Connecticut estate at a significant loss, fetching only $2.9 million, which amounted to an 84% reduction from his initial asking price. The sale, chronicled by the Wall Street Journal, drew attention to the property's extravagant features, including stripper poles, gangsta murals, and a grand cathedral atrium, all tailored to the rapper's extravagant taste.

The mansion's controversial reputation, labeled as "the most notorious house in Connecticut" by the Hartford Courant, may have contributed to its struggles on the market. Despite its allure and opulence, the customizations proved too niche for potential buyers, highlighting the challenges of reconciling personal extravagance with market demands.
