Are you seeing fawns yet where you are?

Here in we’re in peak fawning and calving season. Depending on elevation, the elk and mule deer are wrapping up, while pronghorn fawns are a common sight in the flats.

It's a good reminder that when we're walking ranches this time of year, to stay out of those quiet bedding zones so we’re not disturbing newborns or forcing does and cows to move off their young.

El Paso County friends!!! Signatures are being collected for initiative 302 - Constitutional Right to Hunt and Fish at the King Soopers in Falcon.

On a side note, regardless of how you feel about the proposed initiatives that people are collecting, be respectful to the signature collectors and those signing. The collector at King Soopers had a guy driving by yelling at him and the people signing, yelling “fascist” and “traitor”, trying to scare people from signing. Which is ironically a very fascist thing to do.

Not an animal on the camera this , but still part of the land management story.

How important is water development is when it comes to holding wildlife on a property? Are multiple water sources better? Do you think wildlife prefer natural ponds over guzzlers like this? Can there be too many options for wildlife to water?

Personally, I’ve seen properties completely change once water becomes reliable, especially in dry years and late summer. In fact, we've got a ranch that will be coming to market soon where just a small amount of water has completely changed the story.

How does water effect your hunting? In certain areas I hunt, I actually prefer it to dry up so I can focus in on where wildlife are watering.

In your experience, does water actually hold wildlife on a property, or just help move them through?

Today we take time to remember and honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice serving this country. Their courage and selflessness are the reason we’re able to enjoy the freedoms and opportunities we have today.

Memorial Day is a reminder of the true cost of freedom and the sacrifices made by so many who never made it home.

May we forever be grateful to those who gave everything for this country. 🇺🇸

NEW LISTING | Fremont County, Colorado

This 40+/- acre tract sits in the mountains of southern Fremont County and borders approximately 82+/- acres of BLM with access to thousands of additional nearby public acres. The property offers a great mix of heavy timber, open meadows, solid access, and incredible views from the top of the mountain at around 8,080 feet in elevation.

From the higher elevations, you can see the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Wet Mountains, Collegiate Peaks, and even Pikes Peak on a clear day. There are several strong build locations for a cabin or mountain getaway, plus a well is already in place and power is located nearby.

An old road system provides access through the property and up toward the peak, making it a great setup for camping, hunting, hiking, ATV riding, or simply getting away for the weekend.

The area is loaded with wildlife as well. Located in GMU 691, the property is known for mule deer, turkey, black bear, elk, and more. The Arkansas River is also nearby, offering excellent fishing and rafting opportunities.

Properties with this kind of privacy, views, and direct public land access are getting harder to find in Colorado.

Reach out if you’d like more information or want to schedule a showing.

Not every day you catch a curveball like this on your trail cam.

Yup, that's a bison working a water hole in southern Colorado, and what makes it even more interesting is there aren’t any known bison herds or ranches anywhere nearby. So this one definitely stands out.

Not sure where he came from but it's a pretty cool find and a good reminder to keep your cameras rolling.
