Castle Rock Restaurant week is October 2-11th - and I am warning you. Don’t wear your tightest jeans 😉.

If you have been quietly thinking about Colorado.. yay, you found me.

Here is why Castle Rock & Castle Pines Colorado keep landing at the top of so many Texas relocation lists.

Safety- Castle Rock is consistently ranked one of the safest cities in the state. This is specifically impressive given the size and growth of the city. You are going to feel it the second you get here.

Schools - Top ranked and built for every kind of kid. Whether yours is headed to a four year university or a technical program, this community has options that are actually giving opportunities.

Property taxes - This is the biggie! Less than HALF of what you are paying in Texas right now. Same budget, more house. The math is kind of wild.

Climate- Four real seasons. Cool summers, snowy winters, and an outdoor lifestyle that will make you wonder why you waited this long. No more melting from June through October.

Local priorities - The city prioritizes public safety, infrastructure, and protecting property values. It is well run and it shows.

Castle Rock happy hours ranked by someone who does not consider $1 off a happy hour. Your girl needs a deal AND snacks. So here’s where I would tell you to go.

📍 Scileppi’s — okay this one is a hidden gem. Well drinks under $5 and it’s nice well, not the stuff you regret. Appetizers discounted too, and that charcuterie board? Get it. Early enough that you’re still home by 6 in your comfies.

📍 Block & Bottle / Zabracci — same ownership group so same HH deals. Half off snacks, well drinks, beer and wine all included, and Block & Bottle has a covered patio for when the weather is doing its thing. Zabracci leans more Italian on the snacks side. Both are a yes.

📍 Union — real talk, the drink specials are not my favorite here. But the SNACK game is strong. Italian egg rolls, mac and cheese, and the mussels are crowd faves. It makes the list purely on snack performance and I stand by that.

📍 Courtyard Social — not your traditional happy hour and that is exactly why it made the list. A la carte sliders and tacos, rotating drink specials every single day of the week. Different every time you go, but always a good experience.

📍 The Office — four hours of happy hour. FOUR. Cheapest drinks and food in town and I will not hear any arguments. If your budget is the vibe, this is your place.

You’re browsing Colorado. Denver comes up first. Boulder comes up second. Castle Rock, Co maybe hasn’t come up at all…yet.

And I hear that from almost every single person I work with now.

They were searching Denver. Searching “best places to live in Colorado” at midnight and just.. not finding it. Or finding too much information.

Then you find Castle Rock, Co and everything shifts.

The fall here is UNREAL. The mountains start showing off, the air gets crisp, and suddenly you’re living in a place that actually looks like the screensaver you’ve had on your laptop for five years.

But here’s what most people don’t know until they get here.

Castle Rock gives you the Colorado lifestyle people move here for. Top-rated schools, room to breathe, $700K to $1M buys you something that would cost double in other parts of the state. And you’re still 30 minutes from everything.

Ok yes, the newer communities look amazing.. but here’s something to consider while you decide how important amenities are.

The landscaping in Escavera and The Woodlands is DONE. Trees are mature, open space is right there, trails are already built and waiting for you. You’re not buying a promise on a map.

You back to open space with actual views. And there’s a rec center literally right across the street.

And the part nobody mentions before you sign? Brand new communities come with new community taxes and higher HOA fees that can quietly add hundreds to your monthly payment. Escavera and The Woodlands don’t have that.

Oh, and you’re five minutes from downtown Castle Rock. Festivals, concerts, dinner out on a Friday, done.

It’s not that the newer neighborhoods are bad! They just aren’t for everyone- and established wins in ways that don’t show up on a Zillow filter.

Pumpkin patches with the kids. Festival weekends downtown. The kind of scenery that makes you pull over just to take a picture. Food and drinks at places that actually become your spots.

The stadium (which I will forever call Mile High) is literally 35 minutes from your front door. Not a flight. Not a hotel. Just you, your crew, and the Broncos.

That’s the thing nobody tells you about relocating here. You don’t give anything up. You trade up.

Big city energy on game day. Small town quiet when you get home.

First weekend in Castle Rock? Here’s what you should do.

Rock Park: You moved to a town called Castle Rock. Go touch it. Hike up to the base, and it’s a nice little full circle moment. Only 1.5 miles.

The MAC / Challenge Hill: The MAC has a mini incline and listen.. don’t sleep on the workout. Not into? The trail system will take you via foot or bike all around the park, so don’t worry!

Plum Creek Trail: Plum Creek is your easy yes. Still living out of boxes, totally overwhelmed, just need some air? Go walk it. You can jump on at so many different spots around town.

Memmen Open Space: Memmen Open Space is my sleeper pick and I will stand on that. Nobody talks about it. Which means nobody is there. You will feel like you found a secret and honestly.. you kind of did.

Rhyolite Regional Open Space: Rhyolite. Wide open, gorgeous, and dedicated bike park space. The kind of place where you’ll look around and go.. yeah. This is why we moved here.

You’re buying a lifestyle here, not just a house.
