TheNewton Area Chamber of Commerce () hosted the New Teacher Luncheon this week at Community Heights Alliance Church.

It was put on to welcome all the new teachers joining the Newton school district this year!

We obviously had to be there to support my wife and be a part of it!

We ran a make your own keychain and lanyard station and it was a hit by the teachers!

Teachers invest time, energy, and patience into the next generation and most of them do it without nearly enough recognition (in my opinion, I have seen a lot of late nights!)

Since my wife is joining Newton High School to teach math and we are excited about what this next chapter looks like for our family! And good luck to everyone with the new school year!

Most seniors are paying more in property taxes than they need to.

Not because they have to, but because they do not know this program exists.

Iowa has a Senior Property Tax Credit for homeowners age 65 and older, and if you qualify, it can reduce what you owe each year. The problem is most people never hear about it, or they assume they will not qualify without actually checking.

That is a mistake.

In this video, I break down who qualifies, how the income guidelines work, and how to apply so you can take advantage of it if it fits your situation.
