Thank you for your interest in Prairie Woods Apartment Homes! Prairie Woods is located minutes from downtown Des Moines, Ankeny, Altoona, and Pleasant Hill. We are also directly on the bus line, with easy access to major highways. We offer 1, 2, & 3 bedrooms units, with a variety of floor plans to choose from. We pay for the water, sewer, trash and heat. We also offer several amenities, including
a 24 hour fitness center, 2 swimming pools (one with a toddler pool), basketball and tennis courts, a large playground, and a beautiful picnic area with grills. We have laundry on every floor in each building, and mailboxes are located inside the buildings. All of our buildings have controlled access entries. We welcome cats in all of our buildings with a non-refundable $200.00 pet fee. Cats must be spayed or neutered. We also welcome dogs in our buildings with a non-refundable $300.00 pet fee. Dogs must be spayed or neutered. We do not accept aggressive breeds. We allow up to two pets per apartment. We are also members of Poo Prints , a one time fee of $40 will be charged per dog for a DNA test. Cat rent $20 per month & Dog rent is $30 per month. Prairie Woods has a $40 application fee per adult. There is a $250 holding fee to reserve an apartment that will be applied toward deposit for our apartments. We do conduct background checks, which will look at each applicant's income, credit history, rental history, and criminal history.
