I used to think if you did everything “right” in life then things would run smoothly. 🫠

Turns out, life doesn’t give a damn about your good intentions, how many checklists you make, if your calendar is color-coded or how hard you care. A house can still spring a leak the day after closing. A business can still flatline out of nowhere. Your personal life can still feel like a sitcom where the laugh track fu**ed off & left you talking to yourself in the kitchen.

Here’s what I’ve learned lately: resilience isn’t about never stumbling. It’s about tripping, face-planting, muttering “for f**k’s sake” under your breath… & then getting back up anyway.

Real estate, like life, isn’t about avoiding surprises. It’s about rolling with them & having people in your corner who will hand you duct tape, snacks, & perspective when s**t gets weird.

So if you’re navigating homeownership, business, or just this wild human existence, know this: sideways isn’t failure. Sideways is just part of the damn map.

{And honestly, some of the best stories happen on the detours.}

🏠 New Iowa Law = Better Home Inspections

Home inspections just got a major upgrade.
Starting July 1, 2025, Senate File 460 will require Iowa inspectors to:


🔹 Follow national codes of ethics
🔹 Meet industry standards
🔹 Include key info in every report
🔹 Avoid shady conflicts of interest

This protects buyers from missed red flags and sellers from unfair surprises. Violations can result in fines, so there’s real accountability now.
