Today's Friday happenings.... Enjoy Chicago....
Chicago House Music Festival & Conference
Did you know? House music is a Chicago creation with its roots in the West Loop. The Warehouse, the club at 206 S. Jefferson Street where Frankie Knuckles became resident DJ in 1977, is widely credited as the birthplace of house music and the source of the genre’s name.
Chicago celebrates that legacy August 27–30, 2026 with events at the Chicago Cultural Center, Millennium Park, Grant Park, Daley Plaza, and the Chicago Riverwalk. The lineup includes Jamie Principle, Roy Davis Jr., Maurice Joshua, DJ Heather, K’Alexi Shelby, Emmaculate, and Mark Grant.
The main festival takes place Saturday, August 29, from 1:00–9:00 PM at Millennium Park. Admission is free, and no ticket is required.
