If you woke up angry about last night’s April snow, take heart that on this day, April 6th,1886 the heaviest snowfall in Detroit history blanketed the city in 24.5 inches.

(This photo was misslisted. Thanks to all those who showed us the correct listing. You're awesome history helpers. The correct location is Iron Street in Negaunee, Michigan (Upper Pensinsula) in 1899 on other sites. This is one snowy photo which we’ll need to track down more.)
