The sunshine has returned & we’ve got a packed weekend with sculpural installations at The Guardian Building, audio design workshops at Bulk Space, ceramics at Detroit Public Library, a City of Design Talk at SpaceLab Detroit, UNESCO International Exchange exhibition with Designregio Kortrijk, community arts festivals in three different neighborhoods & more. There’s something for everyone.

Detroit Month of Design opening party✨returns✨ on Sunday Sept. 6! Join us from 5–7 PM at LANTERN Detroit to kick off the festival with live music, hands-on activities, free portraits, screenprinting, treats, tours + more.

Move through the district on the Little Village Design Crawl from 7–9 PM with performances, open studios, exhibitions & live music literally everywhere. Wrap up at Father Forgive Me with the afterparty from 9–11 PM.

Join us September 3 as we kick off the 16th annual Detroit Month of Design with a night of design, art, music, making + community in Little Village.

Start at the River Trail for the offical Opening Celebration with live music, hands-on activities, free portraits, screenprinting, watercolor, block prints, treats + more!

Then, make your way through the neighborhood to explore open studios, exhibitions + special programming on the Little Village Design Crawl. Reconvene at Father Forgive Me for the after party to close out the night.
