Strike this one up for the record books! As my partner Kathryn Mehan Realtor said, “you don’t see that every day!”

Two weeks ago, we closed on a very unique property with a three story barn. One bay of the barn was three stories tall inside! My client had a trapeze for his daughter, and in the contract, it was excluded (meaning it was to be removed before settlement). Well, it wasn’t, and the buyers wanted it gone!! So who do you call to remove two ropes that are three stories in the air?

Well, thank goodness my go-to tree service (Carney Tree Service) has climbers! So Marvin came today and he just climbed up on that beam and slid across to the straps like he was walking down the street. Less than 20 minutes, and trapeze no more!!!

You just can’t make this stuff up!

I should write a book!!!

Lilac Farm has a new Steward!!!

I had a ton of fun researching this amazing farm in Malvern (Tredyffrin Township) back when I first listed it in July. The Supiot family emigrated from France, and brought with them multiple new varieties of plants. What they were best known for were white lilacs (hence the name!), watercress (they introduced it to America), french pears and violets among other vegetables and fruit trees.

My clients have been the proud owners of this wonderful farmhouse for the past 45 years. They reached out to me because of my expertise in researching & marketing historic properties. It was time to reduce their dependence on maintaining an old house (and 6+ acres of fields!) and will be moving into a 55+ community in the near future. Right now, they are enjoying a Viking river cruise in France.

I’m working on an 18th & 19th century property right now that I hope to share with all of you in the next several weeks.
