Ben Nelson Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors

Ben Nelson Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors Ben Nelson is a full-time REALTOR® with Ruhl&Ruhl REALTORS in DeWitt, Iowa. Originally from northern Wisconsin, I have a deep appreciation for the outdoors.

Licensed in both Iowa and Illinois, I am proud to serve homebuyers and sellers throughout DeWitt, Clinton, the Quad Cities, and surrounding communities. As a dedicated real estate professional licensed in both Iowa and Illinois, I am proud to serve homebuyers and sellers throughout DeWitt, Clinton, the Quad Cities, and surrounding communities. My path into real estate follows eight fulfilling year

s of service in the United States Navy, where I developed discipline, attention to detail, a strong sense of community, and a commitment to excellence—values I bring to every real estate transaction. Whether it’s hunting, fishing, golfing, or simply relaxing in the backyard, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family. During my time in the Navy, I was fortunate to live in San Diego, California, where I embraced surfing, rock climbing, and skiing in the mountains. These experiences shaped my understanding of how important it is to find the right place to call home—one that truly fits your lifestyle and long-term goals. Beyond real estate, I am committed to giving back to my community. I currently serve as a Sunday school teacher at my church, where I have the privilege of helping shape the next generation. I am also a proud member of the American Legion, which allows me to stay connected with fellow veterans while supporting our local communities. I believe in a client-first approach, putting your needs and goals at the center of every decision. My objective is to make the buying or selling process as smooth, informed, and rewarding as possible. Whether you are searching for your dream home or an investment property, I will work diligently to guide you through every step of the process. Let’s connect and make your real estate goals a reality.

How to Make Your Home Look Move-In Ready
Most sellers focus on price, but buyers are making a different calculation when they walk through your door. They're asking whether the home feels like somewhere they could actually live. That answer forms fast, often before they've made it past the entryway. So the question worth asking before you list...

Questions Buyers Should Ask About Utility Costs
Before you fall in love with a home, it's worth asking a question that often gets overlooked: What does it actually cost to live here? The purchase price is just the beginning. Monthly utility bills can vary wildly from one property to the next, and they can significantly affect how comfortable that...

How to Evaluate Offers Beyond the Purchase Price
The number at the top gets your attention. It always does. But sellers who anchor to the purchase price and stop there often find themselves caught off guard when a deal starts to wobble — or falls apart entirely — weeks after they thought they'd made the right call.
Here's the thing: A high offer...

Outdoor Shade Ideas for Comfortable Summer Living
Most backyards have a window — maybe an hour, maybe two — where they're genuinely pleasant to be in. After that, the sun takes over, and everyone retreats inside. If that sounds familiar, the fix probably isn't a bigger fan.

How Market Timing Can Affect Your Listing Strategy
If you're thinking about selling your home, timing is probably one of the first things on your mind. Maybe you've heard spring is the best time to list. Maybe headlines about mortgage rates have you wondering whether it makes sense to wait.

Practical Ways to Improve Garage Organization
The garage tends to become a catch-all space over time. Tools get piled in corners, seasonal items take over the floor, and before long, there's barely room to park a car. Getting it under control doesn't require a weekend-long overhaul — with the right approach, you can build a system that actually...
