Riding in the car today, my 12-year-old nephew hit me with some big questions.

“What’s it like being a Realtor?”
“How much do you make?”
“How much do you work?”
“What’s it like telling someone how much their house is worth?”

& it stopped me for a second.

Because the answer people expect is usually about flexible schedules, commissions, or pretty houses.
But that’s not the part of this job that sticks with you.

What people don’t see is the weight that comes with it.

Telling someone their home—where they raised kids, built memories, survived hard seasons—isn’t worth what they feel it’s worth.
Answering your phone when someone is panicking at 9:30pm because an inspection didn’t go well.
Having to be calm, steady, & confident when your client is scared… even if you’re feeling the pressure too.

They don’t see the weeks with no paycheck.
The months where one deal falling apart can change everything.
The constant learning. The contracts. The liability. The fact that “time off” usually isn’t really off.

& they definitely don’t see how personal it gets.

You celebrate with people.
You cry with people.
You advocate for them when they don’t know what to say or how to push back.
You tell the truth—even when it’s uncomfortable—because it’s the right thing to do.

So when he asked me how much I make, I told him the truth:
Some months it’s great. Some months it’s terrifying.
But the real value of this job isn’t the number—it’s the responsibility.

Being a Realtor isn’t selling houses.
It’s holding people’s biggest financial decisions with care, honesty, & grit.

& that’s the part most people never see ♥️

Real estate teaches you real quick that you’re not in control of everything.

Deals fall apart.
Timelines change.
Things you worked hard for don’t always go the way you planned.

Early on, I learned that if my peace was tied to closings, contracts, or outcomes, I’d be on an emotional rollercoaster. And honestly? That’s no way to live—or lead others.

My peace doesn’t come from sales numbers or success.
It comes from knowing Who is in control when I’m not.

Faith reminds me that even when doors close, there’s purpose. Even when plans shift, there’s protection. And even when things don’t make sense in the moment, I’m never walking alone.

If you’re in a season where things feel uncertain—business, life, or both—just know this: you don’t have to carry it all by yourself.

As 2025 comes to a close, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting.

This year stretched me. It humbled me. It strengthened me.
There were wins worth celebrating, hard days that tested my grit, lessons I didn’t ask for but clearly needed, and moments that reminded me exactly why I do what I do.

To my clients — thank you for trusting me with something so personal. Your homes, your land, your next chapters. Whether we worked together for weeks or months, whether it was smooth or messy, I’m grateful you chose me to walk through it with you.

To my friends, family, and community — thank you for the encouragement, the patience, the prayers, and the constant reminders that success means nothing without people who truly have your back.

And above all, I’m thankful to God for His provision, His timing, and His grace through every high and low this year brought.

I’m closing out 2025 tired in the best way — full of gratitude, full of faith, and excited for what’s ahead. If this year taught me anything, it’s that growth doesn’t always look pretty… but it’s always worth it.
