We'd love feedback from our wonderful community!

First of all, thank y'all SO MUCH for a fantastic beginning of the year. There has been so much support and we've been able to host more people than we thought we would this quickly! We appreciate everyone's patience that has stayed with us as we sort out unique and random issues that have popped up.

Second, we've had multiple people ask if we can put laundry facilities onsite at Dickens Country Stays in order to better serve our customers.

What we'd like to hear from the community is:
Would y'all like us to install a public laundromat to better serve the entire community instead of just for motel customers?

We will be renting out the 2 bed 1 bath single family home next to Dickens Country Stays to long-term tenants. What we'd love to know from y'all is:

What would stop you from saying yes to renting out this home on US-82?
Would you prefer to rent it out fully furnished, or move in with your own things?

Hi everyone!

The DCS (Dickens Country Stays) team would like to update y'all on what's been done over the past two weeks since we acquired the property to improve it 🥳:

Pest control has been on scene and taken care of most of the pests. We apologize to anyone that has experienced bed bugs while staying here in the past, but we're working hard on our partnership with a company out of Lubbock to ensure everyone's health and safety. They'll be treating the property bi-monthly to ensure the buildings stay clean.

Multiple AC units and a water heater were reported unresponsive. We've replaced the water heater and are working on AC unit replacement.

Plumbing and electric work are underway. This will not impact the available units, but we hope that these updates will improve guest experience.

We've fully implemented an online booking system and website, and updated various online search platforms to make it easier for our customers to communicate with us.

The unit involved in the car crash was fully repaired, and we are planning to use that room for something other than a traditional rental. Stay tuned for more details 👀

We thank the community for y'all's support and can't wait to continue to serve Dickens and its visitors! 😊

Thank you for supporting Dickens Country Stays (formerly Double H Motel)!

Our team recently acquired Double H Motel and are rebranding in order to provide you, our cherished customers, with a better experience.

The rebrand is accompanied with some updates to the motel, including:

A larger online presence, with a website, booking service, social media page, Google Business listing, Google and Apple Maps listings, and much more
Improved communication with you as the customer, including a new phone number, email, and messaging platform on our website and social pages
Updates to the property itself, including remodeling units, furniture, amenities, and other updates
Cleaning up of some worriesome issues, including pest control, deep cleaning of units, and changes to some of our policies to help keep you safe and provide a better experience

Please be patient with us as we make these updates, and reach out if you spot something that needs to be addressed.

We appreciate you and hope to provide the community with a wonderful place to stay 😊
