President Donald Trump again pledged to cut housing costs, promising “the most aggressive housing reform plans in American history” during a Wednesday Oval Office address. He said mortgage payments would fall further next year but gave few details.

Trump also raised the idea of a new 50-year mortgage last month, but appears to have quietly retreated from the plan after furious backlash within his own conservative base.
