This is a natural gas water heater with the flue pipe not properly secured to the draft hood, this creates a safety and health hazard if carbon monoxide CO were to be emitted into the living space. Also, no expansion tank is present. An expansion tank absorbs the expanded water in the water heater resulting from the heating process. This reduces the strain on home plumbing fixtures and valves from straining and/or prevents leaks. Check to make sure your GFCI receptacles operate properly once a month. Checking them routinely will help prevent electrocution. Also, GFCI stands for ground fault circuit interruptor, it measures an imbalance in current between the neutral (white wire) and the hot/live (black wire).
