💪 If You’re 65+, Losing Weight Isn’t Enough — Protecting Muscle Matters Too.
Many people using GLP-1 medications are thrilled to see the scale finally move. And they should be.
But here’s something that doesn’t get talked about enough: when you lose weight, you can also lose valuable muscle if you’re not intentional.
After 65, muscle becomes one of your greatest assets. It supports metabolism, strength, balance, mobility, and independence. Losing muscle can make it harder to maintain your results and continue doing the things you love.
That’s one reason I appreciate what LEAN brings to the table. While creating a healthy calorie deficit is important, supporting your body’s ability to preserve lean muscle and maintain metabolic health is just as critical.
For me, the goal has never been to simply weigh less.
It’s to:
✅ Lose unwanted fat
✅ Support lean muscle
✅ Stay active and strong
✅ Improve metabolic health
✅ Age with energy and confidence
Pair that with adequate protein, resistance training, hydration, and consistency, and you’re giving your body the support it needs for long-term success.
The scale only tells part of the story.
For those of us 65+, strength, mobility, energy, and independence are the real victories. 💙
