We’re excited to share the plans for phase one of the Regenerative Placemaking Project for the Phoenix Arts & Innovation District! After a year of deep listening, co-creating, and partnering with neighboring residents, artists, and businesses, we are beginning construction on the adaptive repurposing plan.
First up: The Emerald Station. This building is where we have been meeting up the past few months, and will soon be home to creative offices, community gathering spaces, and a large event space.
Next Door at the Liberty Building will feature affordable artist studios, galleries, food and beverage including , and curated retail stores.
The Market on Market will remain an outdoor music venue, gathering space, and arts and flea market - but with upgraded seating and landscaping.
Diagonal from Market on Market is The Bunker! You may have gotten a sneak peak into The Bunker during our 48 Hour Mural Project. Soon it will be refreshed and become a community hub with exciting features.
Friends of Phoenix, the non-profit arm of the Phoenix Arts and Innovation District, will be relocating its offices to the former Habitat for Humanity building, where our recent Holiday Art Fair & Makers Market was held. The nonprofit will operate through four pillars: arts and culture; sustainability; technology; and financial stability.
We can’t wait to welcome you back. ❤️
