Happy Home Anniversary to us! Edward Rawley & Michelle Rawley 🏡❤️

Four years ago today we got the keys to our first home together.

I was scrolling through old photos trying to find one from closing day, and it made me laugh because there are zero. Instead, my camera roll is filled with everything that came after… home projects, half-finished projects 😂, holidays, backyard memories, and watching Quinn grow up.

Looking back at our little “starter home,” it’s fun to see everything we’ve changed… and even funnier to see the things we still haven’t touched. The best part, though, has never been the updates. It’s all the memories we’ve made here.

My husband also happens to be one of the easiest clients I’ve ever had. I showed him exactly one house… okay, 1 and a quick pulse check on another one in Smyrna. 😅

And because I apparently don’t know how to do real estate any other way, we were competing against at least two other offers… and in true fashion, we won. 😉

If we have one regret, it’s that we didn’t buy sooner. Here’s to four years of making this house our home, and many more memories to come. ❤️

Being a REALTOR® in Dover and Kent County, Delaware, can feel pretty easy breezy when the deal is straightforward.

The real test is when things start to fall apart. 👀

When the appraisal comes in low, the inspection gets tense, a title issue appears, the buyer gets nervous, or one unexpected problem changes the tone of the entire transaction, that’s when you find out what kind of support you really have.

This becomes even more important for move-up buyers who need to sell their current home while purchasing the next one. When two transactions, multiple deadlines and a family’s moving plans all need to work together, strategy and steady communication matter.

Those are the moments when I’m not just checking boxes. I’m helping my clients understand their options, protect their position, negotiate thoughtfully and make the next right move.

The headlines might make it sound like everyone is sitting still, but my clients are proving them wrong. 😉
