I had to repost this because Tiffani Hawes | Closing Attorney explained this so well. 👏🏾

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is, “I’m just going to wait until I can afford my dream home.”

The truth is, your first home doesn’t have to be your forever home. Sometimes it’s simply the foundation that helps you get there.

One thing I also want to add is this: don’t become 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐫.

Being house poor means so much of your income goes toward your mortgage and housing expenses that there’s very little left for savings, emergencies, travel, retirement, or simply enjoying life. Owning a home should bring you peace, not constant financial stress.

Building equity, creating stability, and choosing a home that fits comfortably within your budget today can position you for something even greater tomorrow.

If you’ve been feeling discouraged by today’s market, I hope this gives you a different perspective. Don’t let the idea of “perfect” keep you from exploring what’s possible.
