Frank Baseman and I had a wonderful time on Friday visiting Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation Inc. in Elkins Park. Lynnewood Halll was built in 1899 as envisioned by Peter A.B.Widener as a country estate where family, architecture, and art would come together. Designed by The Office of Horace Trumbauer ,the NeoClassical Revival mansion contained more than 100 rooms and became one of the grandest Gilded Age residences in America. This beautiful building had been left in a terrible state until the Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation was formed and purchased the building and grounds to preserve Lynnewood Hall and guide its future as a place of public benefit,education, and cultural enrichment. Fleurdevilles is an exhibit to raise money and awareness based on the HBO Max series called the The Gilded Age depicting the much loved characters in the show using these amazing mannequins decorated in beautiful flowers. The exhibit runs through October 4. We loved it and think you will too❤️ days
