More couples today are saying “I do” to a home before saying “I do” at the altar!

According to the 2025 National Association of REALTORS® Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, unmarried couples made up about 11% of all first-time home buyers in 2025 — showing that more partners are committing financially before tying the knot.

I don’t agree with the idea of banning home investors.

To me, this isn’t black and white—and it’s definitely not about vilifying one group over another.

A house becomes a home whether it is purchased or rented. Love lives there. Prayers rise there. Families grow there. Ownership does not determine dignity.

Investors are not the enemy. Many provide safe, needed housing for families who aren’t ready or able to buy. Renting is not a failure. It is often a season, a necessity, or a wise choice.

The real issue isn’t investors….. it’s balance and fairness.

I believe everyday families should have opportunity and investors should have a place at the table. One should not be erased to benefit the other. When policy leans too far in either direction, people get hurt.

We can protect first-time buyers without banning investors.

We can support renters without shaming ownership.
We can build communities without creating division.

Wisdom looks for solutions, not scapegoats. And faith reminds me that unity matters more than winning an argument.

That’s where I stand firm, thoughtful, and rooted in the belief that home is defined by who lives there, not how the keys were obtained!!!
