In real estate, payday can seem a little puzzling—especially for a buyer’s agent. ⁣⁣

After all, if you’ve ever bought a house, you know your agent never asked for a dime during the entire process. (Truth is, real estate agents can't accept money directly from buyers.) ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬:⁣⁣
⁣⁣
𝘚𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 receive a commission based on a percentage of a home’s sales price—typically between 4% and 6%. ⁣
⁣
Most often, the sellers agent split the total commission 50/50.⁣⁣
⁣
The seller typically pays the commission out of the sales proceeds at closing.⁣⁣
⁣
The commission first goes to the seller's brokerage, who cuts a check to the seller’s agent.⁣⁣
Next, the seller’s brokerage sends the remaining funds to the buyer's brokerage and pays the buyer’s agent.⁣⁣

I am still on a natural “𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩” from our trip to Texas last week!⁣

𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝟓 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐮𝐬! ⁣

From a personal and a business standpoint, this was a more needed trip than we couldn’t have imaged!!⁣

𝗪𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐬, 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫! 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐭, 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎𝐆𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑!! ⁣✨

When Ash and I were younger we used to literally act 𝐝𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐤 when we were together. ⁣
⁣
We’d laugh so hard our eyes started to water, stumble with weak knees and just think each other were hilarious for no real reason… ⁣
⁣
We felt that last week for the first time in a long time and it 𝐅𝐄𝐋𝐓 𝐒𝐎 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃 to be back to our old childhood selves. ⁣

That’s just one small example of a big win that came out of our time spent together. 🙌 ⁣
⁣
