It's been one week since wrapping up the 2026 CAI Law Seminar in not-so-sunny San Diego. Our team leads have returned home to their respective markets with lots of excellent insight and renewed energy for a new year of Building Better Communities.

Community associations are typically governed by volunteer homeowner boards after a community transitions from the developer.

These boards are responsible for preserving the association in three main areas: governance, business operations and community care. This includes enforcing governing documents, overseeing budgets, maintaining shared spaces and organizing services residents rely on.

Understanding how a community association works helps homeowners better understand the role they play.
