🚨 CALIFORNIA — BIG HEADS UP ON THIS ONE

The stage is being set for a rare West Coast weather event.

Conditions are aligning for what could become one of the more unusual and impactful weather setups to affect California in 2025.

A hybrid system is taking shape — a cyclonic low interacting directly with an incoming atmospheric river. Instead of moving through quickly, this configuration allows moisture and energy to become wrapped, focused, and prolonged.

If this setup evolves as projected, impacts could stretch from Northern California to Southern California, spanning more than 500 miles.

• River rises and overflow, especially in saturated basins

What makes this setup stand out isn’t just the rain — it’s the combination of duration, wind, and geographic scale. A hybrid atmospheric river interacting with a cyclonic circulation can significantly extend impacts and delay recovery.

If this system fully materializes, disruptions could persist through the Christmas period, especially where power restoration and travel are affected.
