The Mines of Spain is really whatever you need it to be. A hard walk or a slow one. Somewhere to bring people or somewhere to be alone.

Nobody tells you that you stop living in your house like a normal person the day you list it.

Beds made like a hotel every morning. Counters wiped again on your way out the door. The dog in the car for the third time this week because somebody wants to see it at 5:15.

You end up living around your own house instead of in it.

I bring this up because people expect to feel excited when they list, and then they feel exhausted instead, and they assume something is wrong with them.

Nothing is wrong with you. This part is genuinely hard, and almost everyone finds it hard.

I'll be honest, there will be stretches where the answer is just grin and bear it. Some of this you have to get through, and I won't tell you different.

But there's also a lot we can do to make it work around your life. Grouping showings so they aren't spread across every single evening. Building in breaks. Getting you real feedback so you're not guessing.

You still get to live your life while your house is on the market. That's the whole point of having someone in your corner.

If you're in Dubuque and thinking about a move, I'm always glad to talk it through, no strings.
