Community Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Cloquet has announced plans to expand its medical footprint into neighboring Duluth with a new multi-service clinic. The facility will occupy a 37,000-square-foot space inside the Arrowpointe Medical Center off Rice Lake Road.
The project involves a $7 million renovation to convert a former UnitedHealthcare office space into a state-of-the-art medical environment. According to hospital officials, construction crews will clear out existing cubicles to build the medical infrastructure. Renovations are scheduled to begin in late 2026, with an expected opening date in the fall of 2027.
Once operational, the Duluth expansion will offer primary care and family medicine services, alongside a dedicated physical therapy gym. CMH is a 25-bed independent critical access healthcare system based in Cloquet that provides family medicine, emergency care, orthopedics, oncology, and general surgery.
CMH CEO Rick Breuer noted that the expansion is a response to soaring patient volume, which has left their primary Cloquet campus maxed out on physical space. Extending operations outward allows the organization to fulfill growing local healthcare demand.
Breuer highlighted that patients often describe CMH care as more personal and attentive, expressing a desire to bring this care model to Duluth as the healthcare landscape evolves.
Arrowpointe Medical Center is managed by Titanium Partners and serves as a major regional medical hub. CMH will join other medical tenants in Arrowpointe such as Northern Neurosurgery & Spine, Arrowhead Surgery Center, Dermatology Duluth, Northland Plastic Surgery, The Skin Care Center of Northland Plastic Surgery, Retina Consultants of Minnesota, In Motion Therapy, Optum, United Healthcare, and more.
