So.... I've found myself in a little bit of a situation.....

I have been going through footage and still shots for my upcoming YouTube Channel I've started working on, called "Lake Superior Outdoors"... And I noticed that I'm very good at getting out and capturing the "assets" (or shots), but then I get busy with life and never post 'em... And now I am sitting on a TON of content just ready to go!

So I'm going to be doing a Series I'm calling "ReVisited", where I will be doing posts as I go through all my video footage & still's.
I will post each one up daily, with the date/time/and any other special or unique details that I remember about experiencing while getting that particular shot in question. I'm actually really excited about this, it should be a fun and exciting journey so follow along!!!

For today's shot, It will be this zoomed in shot of one of our Great Lakes Freighter's silhouetted against the fiery sunrise morning sky of April 19th, 2026, 📷 taken at 6:32am.
I'm kicking myself for not recording the incoming ship's name in this one, so if anyone remembers, please don't hesitate to reach out or comment below!

A world within a world 🌎
For a while now, I have been taking this clear optical marble I made in my glass art studio with me everywhere in my camera gear, and I've really been having fun getting it out and experimenting with different shots with it. It has been a fun way to link my 2 different art forms together as one.
Here, I thought this foggy/flat-light shot of the ice push on Lake Superior's Brighton Beach, was a really cool opportunity to play with the optical elements of it. While it's perfectly circular shape makes it stand out, almost unnaturally, against the jagged chunks of ice pushed up, it's "clear" nature allows it to simultaneously blend in and become one with it's surroundings. I also enjoy how it flips the image you're lookin at upside down within it. Just having fun playing with optics! Enjoy 😉

Mother nature & The Lake Superior Gods did not decide to show off the amazingly vibrant colors they can be capable of on this overcast morning, so here is another shot I've been meaning to share.

In this shot, the Aerial Lift Bridge was lit up in the colors of the Duluth City Flag (picture of the flag, provided by Perplexity, included for visual reference).
-The elements of the design are pretty cool when you know what it all means.
👉The three Waves/White Lines represent the rolling hills of the city: Thompson Hill, Enger Hill, and Hawk's Ridge.
👉Colors: The green represents the hillside and north woods, while the two blues represent Lake Superior (dark blue on the bottom) and the sky (light blue on the top).
👉Gold Star: Symbolizes Polaris, the North Star, and honors the area's Native American (Anishinaabeg) and voyageur history.

This shot was taken at 6:41am on January 24th, 2026.

It's always so wild to me, that nature can produce such intense beauty and vibrant colors.... Another shot from Thursday...

Fun fact, I'm also a glass artist and I actually made the clear optical marble I used in this shot.
