As of March 20th, the state of New Jersey requires that sellers and landlords disclose whether the property is located in FEMA's Special Flood Hazard Area or Moderate Flood Hazard Area and any knowledge concerning flood risks of the property.
FEMA has updated their maps due to environmental changes and areas that did not previously flood, but currently do or have the potential to in the future.

As a homeowner, you should...

Go to FEMA's map, look up your property address, and see if anything has changed.

Check your homeowner’s insurance policy and make sure you have proper coverage.

or njconsumeraffairs.gov for more info.
