The scrape you want in front of your camera 🦌

A well-placed vine scrape can do more than just tell you a buck is in the area. It can give mature bucks a reason to stop, check the scrape, and work it in a spot you can legitimately hunt.

The key is timing.

October is when scrape activity starts to ramp up, but as the rut approaches, mature bucks become increasingly active around scrapes, especially from late October through the first half of November. That’s when a scrape in front of the right stand can become a daylight opportunity instead of just another trail camera picture at 2:00 AM.

If you’re setting up a scrape this fall, don’t just think about making a scrape. Think about where you want that buck to stand when he works it.
