I was so delighted to be able to spend time this weekend at the Durango Wine Experience. I’d never been, but was the grateful winner of the grand prize when I signed Destination DRO Real Estate Group to be a KSUT business sponsor. Spending Friday evening walking around downtown seeing a ton of friends out while spending time with and Critter from then catching dinner at was something I’ll always remember! This will definitely be an annual event for me.

I got a chance to tour 56 Black Powder Place today in Pagosa Springs, just Wow! It’s a 75 acre legacy estate on the market for the first time. At 11,000’ living space plus a barn and apartment with sweeping views and just minutes from town. Listed at $6.85M. Thanks and Bill Kinsley for the invite to the ranch to see their beautiful listing!

Happy Independence Day, LPEA! Today marks day 1 in our local energy transition, formally departing Tri-State. Immediately, it saves our members 7M$/year and greenhouse gasses drop 20%. I’m so in amazement what our region has done, and it’s been a long journey-my board tenure was a drop in a big bucket. I got to join the celebration today with the employees and board, here Board Member David Luschen and CEO Chris Hansen posed for a pic with me. Congratulations to us all. Let’s go another milestone or two!

Yesterday, I got to speak on a panel about the housing crisis to all the over 120 6th graders at Miller Middle School in their social studies classes. Joining me were Allison Wall from the Southern Ute Economic Development (and owner of The Balcony restaurant), Todd Wells from Sinberg Lending, and Alex Whittow from Reliance Management. It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever been part of! The kids had such deep questions about everything from why home prices rise or fall, why there aren’t enough homes for everyone who wants to live here, to how discrimination plays a role in wages and housing practices historically and currently. Wow, I’m so excited about this next generation and hats off to the teachers at Durango schools in getting kids educated and prepared for what life brings!
