As much as our for-sale inventory is continuing to climb in 2026, it is still below the number of homes on the market pre-COVID. In La Plata County, current active inventory is 25% lower than in the summer of 2019.

Though sales keep chugging along, last week's number of closed homes is just about 1/2 of what we saw close weekly at the end of May (20 vs 38). Things feel slow in the market because they are much slower than earlier this year. Now that kids are back in school, we will see if the next month gives markets a bump.
