How does the government shut down effect mortgages and closings? I am not a mortgage broker but I can connect you to one if you want to know more. In short real estate transactions can and will happen and a good broker can help you navigate it.

In most cases you can still get a Fannie and Freddie backed mortgage, va loans can happen, USDA loans and hud programs less likely to happen. Flood insurance is also an issue as maybe verification programs.
