🚧Swains Lake Dam Project to Begin Feb 16th!🚧

We just received an important timeline update from Barrington Public Works regarding the dam reconstruction.

What’s happening now: Tree cutting is underway to move utility lines.
What’s next: Heavy construction starts Monday, February 16th.
The impact: Please plan for an estimated 3-week road closure near the dam once construction begins.

The governor has just signed the HB2 budget bill. The HB2 budget contained the language from the HB649 inspection repeal bill. Effective January 31st, 2026 there will no longer be a state inspection sticker mandate in New Hampshire.
