While I could prattle on and on about why we should work together, I've decided to instead share an excerpt from an interview I conducted wife my wife just last night with the hopes of it being published by either Vanity Fair or Esquire magazines. . I'm a sharer. Wife as Interviewer: Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule. Reade: It's my pleasure. I've never before done an interview while reclining on the couch in my pajamas. Wife: So are you a native to the Triangle area? Reade: Yes. I have been here about 20 years. That makes me a native around here, right? (laughter) Actually, I think of myself as a transplant that hasn't yet been rejected. I emigrated to Durham in 1997 from Upstate New York. Wife: What are your main interests? Reade: So, I guess I'm what could some call a "Family Man". I love my wife beyond belief and have two crazy cool kiddos who I can't get enough of. Oh, and I like disc golf. And I love coffee—like really. Coffee. Wife: What do you like most about the Real Estate biz? Reade: I really have a passion for people. I love hearing about the lives of my clients and how they landed where they are now. Additionally, I love that spiritual change that occurs when people transform a house into their home. Sometimes it's created by re-painting the bedrooms, sometimes it's the weekend backsplash tiling project. Regardless of what it is, I believe it's those incremental memories that knit a house into their home. Wife: What did you do with your time before Real Estate? Reade: I was a director in Human Resources for quite awhile. I believe that my HR background has given me a strong basis of compassion, connection, and a true desire to assist others' in realizing both their needs and dreams. I also earned my MBA from Duke's Fuqua School of Business. I focused on Strategy and Entrepreneurship—so I've got that going for me. Wife: Is it true that you grew up with a mother and father who were both real estate agents and were lauded as a top producing team before the "team" concept was even a thing? Reade: No. That is not true. Wife: Can you tell me a bit more about your family? Reade: Sure. As I've already mentioned I have a beautiful wife. I also have two young boys that keep me very busy. One was born at Duke Hospital and the other was made in China—we adopted him about 5 years ago. They are best friends and are as thick as thieves. They fight too, don't get me wrong but I so enjoy being a daddy to them. I'm their favorite parent. (awkward pause) My bad, please strike that from this interview. Wife: What is your deepest secret? Reade: Funny you should ask...
