Today marks 25 years with Edina Realty.
John and I had just gotten married when I started in 2001. My first sale was a two-bedroom, two-bath townhome on Sleepy Hollow in Eagan for $149,000. I wrote two offers back-to-back that day. More than 950 homes later, I still remember that one clearly.
A few years in, John joined me, and along the way we raised three terrific kids. There have been deals negotiated on soccer fields and in the bleachers, contracts signed on vacation, plenty of late-night calls, and a lot of miles on our cars.
When I started, getting to a showing meant a road atlas and printed directions. Offers went by fax, or were presented in person at someone’s kitchen table (sometimes late on a Friday night). Since then, we’ve worked through the short-sale years, virtual showings during the pandemic, mortgage rates from under 3% to over 7%, and all the ups and downs of the market.
But what I remember and love most are the people. First-time buyers getting their keys. Families relocating across the country. Saying goodbye to a childhood home, or settling a loved one’s estate. And now, helping the kids of past clients and friends buy homes of their own.
Thank you for trusting us, for coming back for the next move, and for sending us the people you care about. We wouldn’t still be doing this without you.
