In coming days, weeks and months, you will see and hear more and more about the NAR lawsuit settlement and how it affects the home buying process.

One of the main things I am hearing in the media is how you don't really need a buyers agent and you can navigate a sale by yourself.

ARE THEY KIDDING?
DO NOT LISTEN TO THE MEDIA, THEY DO NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND THE REAL ESTATE, LENDING PROCESS!

A good buyers agent represents you, the buyer. The listing agent on the selling side represents the seller first, not you the buyer.
A buyers agent negotiates the sale, explains the process, makes all the viewing appointments, secures keys to get in, prepares the contract, tracks down the parties for signatures. (makes calls basically 24-7 including weekends and holidays AND vacations)
orders inspections, recommends fixes and takes advantage of relationships to get the right contractors in to fix things in a timely manner. Follows up to make sure the fixes were completed. Makes sure the lenders are on time with financing including the appraisal process etc etc. Feel free to add to this list you real estate professionals.

The good buyers agent realtor earns every penny of what they make.
I have been buying and selling real estate personally for over 30 years. I always use a buyers agent when buying. Are you kidding who has the time or the expertise to perform all those tasks listed above.

Here at Platinum Financial, we will do all to continue to support and promote the buyers agent. We are reading and reviewing the 108 page document, awaiting lender guidelines, and will be watching for solutions to make sure the buyers agent realtor is supported and duly compensated!
