If there is one quality we at Resident Rewards love to celebrate, it is being a great neighbor, and Nora H. has truly exemplified that as a resident of Stony Creek Senior. Nora consistently goes above and beyond to support both her community and the people around her. She takes great pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, regularly tidying shared spaces, and encouraging others to do the same. She even cleans the elevator weekly; despite knowing it is not expected of her. Thanks to her care and attention, the laundry room remains spotless, and she is quick to report any maintenance concerns. She also generously assists neighbors with their laundry whenever they are unable to do it themselves.
Nora’s kindness extends far beyond cleanliness and upkeep. She is often the first to step in when fellow residents are feeling lonely or unwell, making sure they have meals, necessities, and help with errands when needed. She warmly welcomes new tenants, helping them feel at home from the start, and many residents turn to her for advice and guidance on everything from plants and pets to everyday questions. Her compassion for animals is equally inspiring. Nora volunteers with friends at the shelter to help manage the feral cat population on the property, and she personally covered the cost to have five cats spayed and neutered to support responsible population control. She has also helped neighbors care for their pets, including grooming a resident’s small dog when he needed assistance.
Nora’s generosity shines during special occasions as well. This year, she organized the Thanksgiving Celebration, contributed decorations, prepared desserts, and quietly stepped back so others could enjoy the event. She also leaves thoughtful care packages at residents’ doors and surprises neighbors with birthday gifts to help them feel remembered and appreciated. Most recently, she delivered a birthday gift to a resident who had recently lost her beloved pet. We are deeply grateful for all that Nora does to make Stony Creek Senior a more caring, connected, and welcoming community. It is our honor to proudly recognize her as our 2025 Resident of the Year!
