David Kirchgessner - Realtor

David Kirchgessner - Realtor I'm a Realtor serving clients in the Grand Rapids Metro market. This page is focused our region's "I don't see myself as a salesman.

(Despite the fact that I'm licensed in the State of Michigan as a Real Estate Salesperson.) To my clients I'm an advisor, counselor, and most importantly, a skillful problem solver. I have a depth of experience in marketing and negotiating, but I'm more interested in creating the best possible situation for my clients, than simply making a sale. I respect my clients desires and intelligence and go

the extra mile to work hard on their behalf." BIO: Passion has been the genesis of David Kirchgessner’s success in both his professional and personal life. Passion for music led him into his first career as a highly accomplished, professional musician and then into the real estate industry. During his 20+ years in the music industry he honed his skills in contract negotiation, marketing, and client management in his various roles as business manager, publicist and tour manager. In the late 90’s David began to transition his career into real estate investment and was later able to leverage that experience into a full-time career, helping others make smart real estate decisions. In 2015, he made another transition, this time from West Michigan Group to the East Grand Rapids office of Greenridge Realty. David is detail orientated and ambitious, with a hands on approach to business. Whether helping stage a house for a photo shoot, or finding a reliable contractor, there’s no aspect of the home buying/selling process that David won’t help with. It’s this attitude that has earned him the reputation as one of the hardest working real estate agents in the city. David’s been heavily involved within the Grand Rapids community for many years. He has also worked on multiple real estate development projects through his Calder City Unlimited Management Company. His projects include real estate investment, residential rehab and property management. David’s diverse real estate experience gives his clients a competitive edge in the market. When asked, what he found most fulfilling about his career in real estate his answer was simply, “Advocating for my clients, negotiating the best outcome possible and ensuring that their home buying experience is seamless and enjoyable.”
Dave has lived in the Grand Rapids area for over 40 years. An alumnus of Creston High School and a graduate of Michigan State University, his roots run deep within the local community. He and his wife currently live in East Grand Rapids with their three children. In addition to his greatest passions, real estate and music, David is an avid gardener of heirloom tomatoes, enjoys sailing, snorkeling, fly fishing, traveling, cooking and eating. He owns a ’79 Pinto moped and a ’69 Karmann Ghia convertible, both of which are occasionally in running order. Most of all he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

We're starting to see some folks speculate that we're in a housing bubble. I get why some people think that, but I don't agree... at least not in our West Michigan Market. Yes prices have gone up about 35% in the past year, which is simply not sustainable. However, demographically, not enough houses are being built to satiate the demands of millenials who are just now at their peak first time home buying stage. That said, have some buyers gotten sucked into the frenzy and paid too much for a house? Absolutely. (but not my buyers :)

During the past two years, home prices nationally have soared more than 30%. Rising mortgage rates make affording a home even harder. That has many people wondering if we're in another housing bubble.
